Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I)

At Takeuchi, DE&I (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) is considered as critical an issue as climate change. We strongly recognize the necessity of preventing homogenization and inflexibility and embracing diverse values and growth potential, both in management and at the operational frontline.

We aim to create a comfortable workplace for employees from diverse backgrounds, including women, those with foreign roots, and employees with disabilities. As an initiative to reflect diverse voices, we are initially focusing on increasing the ratio of female employees and fostering female managers.

Acknowledging the past reality and shortcomings that "the construction machinery industry has historically seen very few female applicants, resulting in a male-dominated company," we are actively promoting efforts to expand the recruitment of women at the entry level. This includes introducing labor-saving and automated equipment into production sites and improving production processes to realize a factory where everyone can work easily, safely, and more efficiently.

We are steadily working on human resource development to ensure that female employees, hired as new graduates or mid-career, will be appointed to management positions in the future, aiming to correct the imbalance over the medium to long term.

Furthermore, to promote gender diversity on the Board of Directors, female directors were appointed at the General Meetings of Shareholders held in May 2023 and May 2024, resulting in a current board composition of nine male directors and two female directors. Additionally, given that our overseas sales ratio exceeds 95%, we have set a new indicator: the local manager ratio in overseas subsidiaries. This aims to incorporate local perspectives into management and expand local employment.
